AAWAA is a peak body that co-ordinates national-level activities on behalf of our affiliated women’s action alliances and that also represents those alliances in national and international matters. All members of our affiliated women’s action alliances are by default members of AAWAA and all our members are women.

Constitution
Our constitution is the formal set of rules that governs AAWAA as a not-for-profit organisation. It defines our purpose, membership structure, decision-making processes, responsibilities of our committee, and how we manage our resources. It ensures that we operate transparently, ethically, and in line with our mission to advocate for the protection and advancement of women and girls. Read more below.
Affiliate group guidelines
Our affiliate group guidelines set out who we are, what we stand for, and how we work together across Australia to protect and advance the rights of women and girls. They outline our shared principles, how affiliate groups operate, expected standards of behaviour, and how we communicate, collaborate, and take action. They serve as a roadmap for maintaining integrity, unity, and effectiveness in our work. Read more below.
AAWAA Statement on the use of AI
At AAWAA, we use AI as a tool to amplify and broadcast our own voices as an independent media outlet, with full transparency and consent from the women involved. We recognise that we have limited time, resources, and personnel, and AI enables us to achieve the advocacy work we could not otherwise manage. We use it in a contained and consensual manner, ensuring every participating woman understands and agrees with how her contributions are used. For us, AI is just one of the many tools we use to elevate our voices in a world where we are often unheard. Read more below.
